Do we serve God or mammon? Money in the Bible

Italy

Money is a source of inequality; among these concerns are women. The Bible reminds us that they have always been an active subject in economics. Jesus proposed a radical alternative, an Aramaic word that means wealth: you cannot serve God and mammon. A potent and evocative saying even outside the context of faith. In making this happen, it is not enough to look around.

From 1 to 3 April, the members of Biblia, a lay association of biblical culture, will be meeting in Forli for this theme. Speakers include Piero Stefani, Stefano Massini, Anna Foa, Debora Spini and many others. The approach is interreligious and shall look at money from the three monotheistic religious perspectives: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The conference will be held in attendance.
