“In the footsteps of Jesus as women of the Gospel” is the theme chosen to accompany the celebrations of the centenary of the foundation of the Pious Disciples of the Divine
This current volume contains the presentations that accompanied the three webinars conducted in light of the recent publication of the Bible Scrutate le Scritture last October 14, 2020. This new edition has unique features which were received with particular enthusiasm as evidently shown by the success where it is currently in the translation phase of twelve other languages. The Centro Biblico San Paolo of Italy and Brazil facilitated the promotions and the organizations of the said webinar event.
The three webinars aimed to deepen what is meant by “prayerful reading of the Word” and how to experience it through the scrutiny of the Scriptures (scrutatio), an approach rooted in the Jewish, patristic, and liturgical tradition. Although coming from different perspectives, these three traditions have lived the “scrutatio” not only as a “method” of reading the Scripture but also that as establishing a relationship with God. With this method, they allow themselves to be guided by the Word itself, without falling into the danger of managing it, manipulating it, locking it in its historical or cultural horizon.
