The Gospel ‘Suspended’: Delivering the Gospels to the Imprisoned

The bookstore of the Daughters of St. Paul in Brescia, in collaboration with some parishes, organized the initiative entitled “Gospel suspended”. It aims to convince that, if reading has always been a form of evasion and formation, the Gospel can open the doors to the light, give messages of hope and change the lives of those who are living the hard trial of prison. Who wishes can buy a Gospel and write a dedication and a thought of closeness and put it in a special basket. These will then be collected by operators and chaplains of the prison houses of Brescia and surroundings and the donated books and deliver them to the prisoners. At the end of Lent, there will be a moment is with and for the young people of the parishes who have contributed to the spread of the Gospel so that the gesture can be significant both for those who give it and for those who receive it.
