The biblical weeks proposed by the Monastic Fraternity of Bose are an opportunity offered to anyone who wants to deepen the experience of faith in assiduous confrontation with the Word
“Then he led them [out] as far as Bethany, raised his hands, and blessed them. As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven. They did him homage and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and they were continually in the temple praising God.” Luke 24, 50-54
Author and Biblical theologian Dr. Scott Hahn explains the connection between the Lord ‘s Ascension and the Solemnity of the Pentecost. The Ascension is the preliminary feast that directs the Church’s attention forward to Pentecost. On that day, salvation will be complete; for salvation is not simply expiation for sins (that would be wonderful enough), but it is something even greater than that. Expiation is itself a necessary precondition of our adoption as God’s children.
Below is a video from St. Paul Center of Scott Hahn and Rob Corzine discussing the connection between the Ascension of Our Lord (which we will celebrate in a few days) and Pentecost. To receive the weekly Sunday Bible Reflection from Dr. Scott Hahn, here is the link: stpaulcenter.com
