The approaching season of Advent stimulates in Italian readers attention to the Word of God. A survey by the religious publishing portal – Rebeccalibri.it – shows that the top ten best-selling books in the last month, books on biblical spirituality stand out: from Gianfranco Ravasi’s Alphabet of God, to Fabio Rosini’s Di Pasqua in Pasqua; from Ermes Ronchi’s Abbraccio di Dio to Luigi Maria Epicoco’s Per custodire il fuoco. On the podium, in the first five positions we find titles from San Paolo (which takes the “lion’s share” by occupying six out of ten positions). They are followed by two texts from the Paulines, one from Centro Ambrosiano and one from Einaudi. Let us bless the heavens that the Word of God accompanies us in the understanding of liturgical times. This is a sign that readers are living the faith with depth and substance and not only with devotion.
