Tracing the History of the Latin American Bible with Marcelo Lavayen

More than 50 years have passed since the first edition of the Latin American Bible was published, a version of the sacred text written in American Spanish for humble and simple people. It is worthwhile to look back and learn about the beginnings, the evolution and success of this project, which has surpassed 90 million copies distributed worldwide, has changed the lives of many people and has opened the way for other pastoral editions in many other parts of the world. In an agile and dynamic style, and after an arduous work of documentation and interviews with some of the people who were protagonists and witnesses of the process of creation of this Bible, the author relates the vicissitudes that Ramón Ricciardi and Bernardo Hurault, two French priests, had to go through in the impoverished south of Chile to make their project a reality, and reviews the history of this Latin American Bible.
