“Every action has a source, both for good and for bad,” but everything starts from thoughts.”
L’arte della buona battaglia (The art of the good fight) (San Paolo 2023, pp. 399)
The latest book by Fr. Fabio Rosini, in which the Roman priest addresses the theme of inner combat starting from the eight loghismoi, the evil thoughts at the root of human deceit according to the subdivision operated by Evagrius Ponticus, a 4th century desert monk. Countering these enemies of the spiritual life, with the help of divine grace, in fact allows us to pave the way for the true freedom of the children of God. On the one hand, man receives light from the Holy Spirit, on the other he receives suggestions from the enemy spirit. The first inspires from within, in a delicate and constant way; the second attacks from the outside, attacking in an invasive and sudden way. Fr. Rosini’s three volume book, immerses in the Word of God and educates to discernment. The author’s trilogy opens withL’arte di ricominciare: I sei giorni della creazione e l’inizio del discernimento (The Art of Starting Over: The Six Days of Creation and the Beginning of Discernment) and continues with L’arte di guarire: L’emorroissa e il sentiero della vita sana (The Art of Healing: The Haemorrhoid and the Path of Healthy Life). The author dedicated a series of catecheses on Vatican Radio entitled The Inner Challenge where you can find available at this link.
