Tailandia: The good news about the Good News!

Tailandia

Thailand’s Akha tribe begins its translation of the Bible into its language. Local catechists, together with priest missionaries of the Pontifical for Foreign Missions (PIME) are working together in making a biblical-theological dictionary as a step to having a complete translation of the Bible into their local language. The PIME fathers have carry-out their missionary work of evangelization to the said people living in the mountainous northern regions of Thailand for 20 years already. In Asia, there are still 124 million people speaking 751 languages that have no translation of the Bible into their respective local languages. The project of translating the Bible into the local language of the Akhan tribe seeks to establish a representation of their presence, culture, and identity. Translations of specific books are also currently translated.
