To mark the 60th anniversary of the promulgation of the dogmatic constitution Dei Verbum, on November 17-18, 2025, the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, in collaboration with the Catholic Biblical Federation, will host an event focusing on this key conciliar document. The conference aims to go beyond simply recalling its challenging origins and primary contributions; instead, the focus will be on evaluating its reception and envisioning its future. Specifically, the event will address which aspects of the constitution have been successfully assimilated into both theology and the life of the Church, which elements are in need of recovery or renewed focus, what limitations of Dei Verbum can now be identified in light of more than fifty years of experience, and finally, how the document might be enriched or completed.
